Very good article, I tested it myself, working perfectly on 10.1, please note fo those who has very big database, this can cause server overload, so you have to make sure you close your website at least 15 minutes before perform the conversion. We do free conversion only if your database smaller than 500MB, if bigger than that we might deny the free requests.

if your modules that use database to store data and uses in-conjunction with other table then you will get error like sql - Illegal mix of collations MySQL Error or something like Illegal mix of collations (xxxx_ci,IMPLICIT) and (xxxxx_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=' which is just another disaster because you will get nothing but error page...so don't use illegal mix otherwise MySQL server can cry like babe to query data

One thing i wanna know , if UTF8 or win-1251 does effect the crawling process of bots somehow ?
I mean
win1251 > UTF8. ? or just the characters support? I mean if its totally english version why should i need win-1251 ?

no, it has nothing to do with crawl or bots...only for specific characters supports and display certain symbols on your site

you can use both encoder versions for English characters, it doesn't matter...the only difference is windows-1251 was originally developed for this script because it was primary intended for Russian languages and user group...utf-8 wasn't added to dle until early 9.x versions, the original script was only released in windows-1251 (cp1251)...which version to use in your English site is up to you there will be no difference in English
